The song peaked at #7 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It reached #1 in Australia where it remained for one week and #4 in the United Kingdom.
On the iTunes Music Store, for a small period, the single "Switch" ranked No. 2 on the Top 100 Songs and No. 1 on the genre category Hip-Hop/Rap.
Will Smith performed the song live on the Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards 2005 and at the Live 8 concert in Philadelphia.
There are 2 official remixes to the song-an R&B remix featuring Robin Thicke with a smoother and slower rhythm and a reggae remix featuring Elephant Man. Both can be found on the Lost & Found album. One of the most common remix found on various file-sharing programs is the Switch (Lil Jon Remix). It is unknown if it was produced by Lil Jon.
