The Swiss Cup 2007-08 is the second season of Switzerland's football knockout competition. FC Basel are the current holders of the Swiss Cup winning it for 2 years in a row.

[edit] The Mode
Since the season 2007/2008, the system easily was changed. 10 clubs from Super League as well as 17 clubs of the Challenge League were not direct for the Swisscom Cup qualified (game justified was out of the Challenge League the FC Vaduz, that at the Liechtensteiner Cup participated). To these 27 societies, 11 clubs knocked out of the 1st league as well as 26 clubs out of the amateur league. These had to qualify in regional separations for the Swisscom Cup. It was played in the K. O. -system. Each round took place newly within maximally two days and was shifted before because of the European championship 2008 around some months. So the finale found already in April in place of in May or June place.
Round of 64-(15. and 16th of September 2007) : 64 teams that qualified are victor for the 1/16-Finals.
Round of 32-(20. and 21st of October 2007) : 32 teams that qualified are victor for the Achtelfinals.
Round of 16-(24. and 25th of November 2007) : 16 teams that qualified are victor for the Viertelfinals.
Quarter Finals-(15. and 16th of December 2007) : 8 teams that qualified are victor for the Halbfinals.
Semifinals-(27. and 28th of February 2008) : 4 teams, the victors qualify for the final game.
Final-(6. April 2008) : The victor wins the 83rd Swiss cup.

This final did not take place traditional location of the Stade de Suisse in Bern. For at this time, the lawn lawn was being changed at the Stade de Suisse in order to be able to ready in June, for the European Championship '08. As a replacement, the St. Jakob-Park in Basel was picked. As a home team, the victor of the first pulled Semifinal counted. Also the Date of the match was pushed up because of the European Championship. The Final took place on the 6th of April 2008.
