[edit] Trivia
- Amy Danles, who played Enid Rollins, and Manley Pope, who played Devon Whitelaw, are married in real life.
- SciFi veteran David Winning directed 11 episodes of the series, including the series finale "Animal Rights & Wrongs". Winning's other projects for Saban Entertainment include Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie and Breaker High.
- In the Philippines, Sweet Valley High was formerly aired on ABC 5 for the first two seasons and then on GMA 7 for the third and fourth season.
- In the UK, Sweet Valley High has clearly proven to be a very popular show for youngsters, having been shown on 5 television networks: BBC1, TCC, Trouble TV, Fox Kids and The Disney Channel UK. It was first shown on BBC1, on Saturday mornings from April 1995. Each following year, the station viewed the next series; it was even shown as part of Live and Kicking. It was also shown on TCC in 1995 (The Childrens Channel), which later became Trouble, a channel for teenagers. During a long break from Trouble (1997), Sweet Valley High was picked up and shown on Fox Kids in the evenings (1997-1998), where the new episodes were aired. It was then brought back by Trouble (1998), which repeated all four seasons, for a period of two-three years (1998-2001). Trouble suddenly stopped showing Sweet Valley High, which was in the middle of the third series; it was clear that Trouble had finally let the show go. Following this, The Disney Channel UK picked up Sweet Valley High, and aired all four seasons, during weekday evenings and late nights (2001-2003). Sweet Valley High is no longer shown in the UK and is sadly missed.
