The Fiat C.R. 42 preserved at this museum is not even a one-of-a-kind aircraft, and therefor not ".....the rarest aircraft on display"! Several of the other aircraft on display are, like the already mentioned Junkers Ju86. The salvaged DC-3, 79001, is a former C-47, not a Dakota. Yes, there is a difference (different air forces, different names!), only 79005 and 79008 were former Dakotas. The ELINT work was not for the US Air Force.
