Sweet and Low was the fourth single from Deborah Harry's third solo album, Def, Dumb and Blonde. The song fared slightly better in the UK than the previous single, "Brite Side", by peaking two places higher at #57. It also reached #17 on the US Dance Chart. The single version was again a remix by the PWL team and it was later included on Chrysalis Records/EMI's 1999 compilation Most of All - The Best of Deborah Harry.
"Sweet and Low"/"Kiss It Better" was released as a double A-side single in Australia in 1990, reaching #30.
