Sweet William (film)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sweet William. A movie lasting 90 minutes, made in the UK in 1980 directed by Claude Whatham starring: Sam Waterston, Jenny Agutter, Geraldine James, Anna Masseyan, Tim Pigott-Smith and Melvyn Bragg.
Criticised it proved an unsuccessful adaptation of a Beryl Bainbridge novel. Agutter plays an English girl learning about love and sex the American way from Waterston. Alas, when she discovers that he is two-timing her, their precarious relationship takes a turn for the worse. Agutter contributes some fine believable acting with occasional and too brief nude scenes. Sam Waterston is equally believable as charming rogue William who neglects to tell his various conquests of his various other conquests and wives.
