The Sweet Sioux Tomahawk is presented to the winner of the annual college football game between the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. The original trophy was a carved wooden Indian, but was replaced by a replica tomahawk for easier transportation.

Northwestern won the Tomahawk first in 1945, beating Illinois 13-7 in Evanston. As of the 2007 football season, Illinois holds a 52-44-5 edge in the series overall, and a 33-28-2 lead since the Tomahawk was instituted. Northwestern has narrowed the series record recently, having won 4 of the last 5 meetings.
