Sweet Cream Butter
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Sweet Cream Butter" was written by Flan in Burlington, Vermont. Flan was formed by RAQ bassist, Jay Burwick, aka Jay Atlas Mason, and Peter Becker, aka Junior Whitefish, prior to Burwicks membership in RAQ. Also playing on the title track of the 1999 album by the same name are John McConnel, aka Vice Boy McFlannel, and John Prue, aka Red Oak. After some historic live versions by Flan in early 2000, the song found its way into RAQ's repertoire. In concert, Jay Burwick will create an impromptu story about the song's character, Artie (prononced Ahtie), and his sweet cream butter fetish. The song was inspired after Becker and Burwick saw a story on HBO's "Real Sex" about a man named Artie who did, indeed, like to rub sweet cream butter all over himself, and others, then lick it off each other. Ahtie Flan, aka Jamie Landry, was a founding member of Flan, predating Vice Boy McFlannel.
