Sweden chose their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 by holding a national selection called Melodifestivalen 1995. Among 10 songs (and a total of 986 submitted), Se på mig ("Look at me") with Jan Johansen was elected winner by the eleven regional juries. The song was written by Ingela "Pling" Forsman and composed by Bobby Ljunggren and Håkan Almqvist.
The ESC final was, for the second year running, held in Dublin, Ireland and Jan was drawn to perform as #18 in a start field of 23 countries. Sweden received no less that 100 points (including 3 sets of 12 points), giving them a 3rd place and enough average points of the recent years to be qualified also for the next year's edition.
