Sweden chose their Eurovision 1986 entry in a selection called Melodifestivalen 1986. Winner by far was the song É dé det' här du kallar kärlek performed by Lasse Holm (who had also written the song) and Monica Törnell.
At the final, this year held in Bergen, Norway, Sweden was on stage as #17 out of 20. With 78 points, the entry finished 5th, bringing Sweden its fourth top 5-position in a row.
