The use of all coats of arms are of course restricted in official contexts where impersinations is possible. Those which are not copyrighted are otherwise free to use in any way; if they were recently designed, they are used under the Fair use clause. Before using, check the image description on the image page and check the city article itself. Almost all coat of arms that once belonged to a Cities of Sweden are old enough not to be affected by copyright restriction.
Also note there is a couple of symbols in this category -- some municipalities have started to use a symbol in all official contexts, thus in some way taking over the role of the coat of arms. They have not replaced them. However, it seems more appropriate to use the symbol in place of the coat of arms if the symbol is better known than the coat of arms among the population. All the symbols were created in the 90's and are only used under the Fair use clause.
