The swarfega's manufacturer's website says it is the old engineering term for oil and grease. I can't find any other sources for this though, including some very old dictionaries. I've contac ted the company for clarification. (John Kingston - wrote original article)

swarf is not "the old engineering term for oil and grease", as this article claims. swarf "consists of shavings and chippings of metal" (see wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swarf for correct definition) jeffs 21:18, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
