Swarna Mallawarachchi the award-winning Sri Lankan film actress, also known as the "Golden star of Sinhalese cinema". When was a schoolgirl she started the cinema career from 1966 Sinhalese film Sath Samudura directed by Dr.Siri Gunasinghe. Also she won the 'Best Actress Award' for 19 times.[1]

Swarna left the Sri Lankan cinema for a brief period in the 70's to live abroad and when she returned after a four year absence there was an influx of new actresses. Swarna accepted supporting roles from directors during this period however obtained the Best Actress awards for these roles during these years. A hint at the excellence of her talent. Swarna Mallawarachchi is the highest number of 'Best Actress' awards holding actress in Sri Lanka.
In her off-screen life, Swarna is an example of the roles she portrays on-screen. A strong, independent woman who has achieved the best in life for herself and her family. She was appointed the UNHCR ambassador for women's rights in Sri Lanka since 2004.

Swarna is a cute girl, with bubbly eyes, who always loves keeping and making others happy. She has a wonderful and beautiful eyes, along with an enthralled voice. Her voice is like a humming cuckoo.
Her career was decided at PSG Institute of management, and she decided to take up the Financial Analyst in a well-known reputed company.
So lets all pray the Almighty that her future will be as she liked, no no, her future should be like what I decide, no no, like we both only, WE BOTH ONLY decide !!!!

After the Asian Earthquake (Tsunami) Swarna's most of the time spent with the charity work for women and girls who became the victims of sexual and domestic violence. As part of the United Nations effort to educate women, Swarna keep visiting the refugees and educating them to protect from rape and abuse.[2]
