Swapnil Bhartiya (born 15 June 1977 at Lakhimpur Kheri' (Hindi: लखीमपुर खीरी, Urdu: لحیم پور خیری), a district of Uttar Pradesh in the Lucknow division., India) is a technology journalist and science-fiction writer. Currently he is working with EFYTImes as an Assistant Editor. Under his leadership EFYtimes has emerged as one of the most referred technology news portal from India.

Swapnil Bhartiya has written for CSIR, Bhabha Nuclear Research Center, Mumbai, IIT- Delhi, and NRDC. He is active member of many organisations engaged in popularising science in India, namely Indian Science Fiction Writer's Association, Varanasi.

Swapnil has also been a trainer in the workshops organised by ISFWA. Swapnil is also an active blogger who writes on issues from technology to literature. He is also active in promotion of Linux through his blogs.

Swapnil did his M.A. in American/English literature in year 2000, then completed a mass communication course from MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia university, Delhi.

Swapnil started his writing career in 1995, when he was in the 11th grade. He wrote an article for a magazine of CSIR India. Then he started contributing for the magazines regularly. It was in the year 1999, when he received a call from All India Radio and he started broadcasting his science fiction stories from the radio station.

He is also a science-fiction writer and has worked in some documentary films during his studies of mass communication. He is primarily known for keep a skeptical close eye on Microsoft for LINUX For You magazine -- Asia and India's first and only magazine (in English)for Open Source technologies. His noted stories include the Microsoft's allegation that Linux infringes on its patents: *The Conspiracy Theory.

He lives in Delhi.
