Swansea Improvements and Tramway Company

The Swansea Improvements and Tramway Company (SITC) was a Welsh company that ran rail services. It was incorporated in 1874 to construct tramways within Swansea.
It also had the right to run services over the railway system owned by the Swansea and Mumbles Railway (SMR). In 1877, the SITC commenced services that competed with those already provided by the railway owners. In 1896 an agreement was reached between the SMR and the SITC: SITC ceased services on the SMR line and received compensation.
