Swans Are Dead is a double live album by Swans. It was released in 1998 and was recorded in 1995 and 1997 on the band's final tours.

The setlists of this era in the Swans live show were probably the most varied in terms of chronology. Although many of the songs performed were culled from Soundtracks for the Blind, the band also resurrected songs from much earlier albums, including a reworking of "I Crawled" from the Young God EP.

This disc was recorded in Norway on the band's 1995 tour.

Likely due to time restraints, several songs played during the tour did not appear on Swans are Dead. During the 1995 neck, the Great Annihilator tracks "In" and "Alcohol the Seed" were setlist staples; "Animus" also appeared, but infrequently. Shows from the 1997 tour usually included performances of the unreleased song "My Birth" and a nascent version of "The Man With the Silver Tongue" from the Angels of Light's debut (on which also appears an acoustic cut of "Not Alone").

"Feel Happiness" is one of Swans' handful of live-only tracks.
