Swan Lake is a Canadian indie supergroup comprising Carey Mercer of Frog Eyes, Daniel Bejar of Destroyer and The New Pornographers, and Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, and Frog Eyes. Originally playing under the moniker "Thunder Cloud", the group changed it to Swan Lake after discovering the previous name was already taken.[1] The band released their debut album Beast Moans on November 21, 2006 through Jagjaguwar.
In a recent Pitchfork interview, Krug stated that the band would be going into the studio in February '08 to record the follow up to Beast Moans.[2] Even more recently in an interview with Bejar, when asked about the possibility of recording the new album in February, he stated, "It is an extremely distinct probability."[3] On May 21, Spencer Krug confirmed in an interview for Burst Radio that the album had been recorded and was just waiting to be mixed.
