Welcome to Wikipedia. It would be appreciated if you would not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Tom Hepburn. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. [edit] Merger proposals

Hi Sw2046,

I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I examined your contributions and found a couple articles that you have contributed significantly to which exhibit similar problems. I'm going to propose that they be merged with other articles, but I want to make sure you understand the reasons behind the proposals before I make them.

Essentially, the articles I will propose mergers for do not establish the notability of their subjects. Although they are in some way related to a notable person, notability is not inherited; that is, they have to be notable on their own to merit inclusion in Wikipedia. This is the major reason behind the deletion proposal for Tom Hepburn, and given that the articles I noticed indicate similar flaws, you can expect a similar outcome in the event that they are nominated for AfD.

That being said, here are the articles and proposed mergers.

I'll come back later to formally propose the mergers--you're welcome to dispute my proposals if you would like, but please be certain your arguments are based on Wikipedia policy if you do so. I've added a welcome template below that will provide you with links to some useful reading materials. Thanks, and happy editing! --jonny-mt(t)(c)Tell me what you think! 02:50, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

(P.S. On a separate note, please be aware of Wikipedia's guidelines to biographies of living persons when editing articles. I found a good deal of unsourced information in a number of your edits.)

[edit] AfD nomination of Harmon Nelson

Harmon Nelson, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Harmon Nelson satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Harmon Nelson and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Harmon Nelson during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. jonny-mt(t)(c)I'm on editor review! 08:40, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
