Sven Gustav Thorell (born February 18, 1888 - died April 29, 1974) was a Swedish sailor who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics and in the 1932 Summer Olympics.

In 1928 he won the gold medal in the 12 foot dinghy.

Four years later he finished ninth in the Olympic monotype.
