Sveinung (born Frunz Dønezal, 1976 in Levanger, Norway) is a singer, songwriter and piano player. A 6 ft 5 in, 350 lb. gentle giant with a habit of pinching people's behinds (as a greeting), Sveinung created five albums full of bizarre, excited, and often obscene rants about love, dogs, loneliness and the pleasures of camping.
All his albums were released on the underground Tender Loin Records label. In 2003 he even released an album in Swedish, his maternal grandmother's native tongue, entitled Ensamma killars klubb (" The Extremely Lonely Bachelors' Society "). This received great critical acclaim. One track on the album, "Milda stjärna, upp till dig" features the legendary choir Karskstrupen from the mountain village of Meråker. Sveinung grew up on a large farm here.
Rumours tell that Sveinung is identical with the artist "One-String Sveinung" who did release the now legendary collectors item "He went a-fishing" in 2003.
