Suzanne Brockmann (born 1960) is an award winning American romantic fiction writer. She lives in Boston, Massachusetts with her husband, author Ed Gaffney, and their two children, Melanie and Jason.

Brockmann attended Boston University's School of Broadcasting and Film majoring in film and minoring in creative writing. However she did not graduate as she dropped out to sing in a band. Afterwards she met her husband and started a family. It was after having her second child that Brockmann started writing, her first published novel was written along with nine other manuscripts in 1992. The book, Future Perfect, was published in 1993.
In 1996, Brockmann published the first in her Tall, Dark & Dangerous series. The series develops among a fictional group of Navy SEALs. The books following in the series, and that of the Troubleshooters, Inc. series are all classified in a sub genre known as 'military/romantic suspense'.[1]
Brockmann has garnered the attention of magazines such as Out, which serves the gay community, with the publishing of her book Hot Target which has a subplot dealing with a romance of an openly gay recurring character in the Troubleshooters, Inc. series.[2] Brockmann has stated that she is a PFLAG mom, supporting her gay son, Jason, and dedicating her book to him.

Brockmann has received a number of awards during her career. She is a two time winner of the RITA award from the Romance Writers of America, and her books have been named the Romance Writers of America's #1 Favorite of the Year for three years running. She has been the recipient of the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Awards seven times, the WISH Award sixteen times, and has received six Gold Medal reviews from the Romantic Times Magazine as well. She has been awarded the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Series Romance.
Brockmann's books have also been on the New York Times Bestsellers list.
