Suva Grammar School

Suva Grammar School, previously Suva Boys Grammar School, is a secondary school in Suva, Fiji.

In 2004 the school, in cooperation with police, launched a pilot "Scholastic Crime Stoppers" programme targeting drugs use, truancy and other problems. [1] [2] By March, 2006, 13 schools had taken up the scheme. [3].

The school cater for levels from Form 3 to Form 7 and have a school population of about 1000 students and including teachers.SGS take very proudly in sports as they help students with talents get to play in overseas countries; as some even represent the school and country at international levels such as Iliesa Namosimalua,Niko Verekauta and Makelesi Bulikiobo.

Noted alumni of the school include Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase, who returned to the school in March, 2006 to launch the Suva Declaration on Education.[4] Prominent staff members include former principal Krishna Datt, later a government minister, [5] sprinter Makelesi Bulikiobo who won the 200m event at the 2007 South Pacific Games.[6]
