Susumu Katsumata

Susumu Katsumata (December 27, 1943 - December 3, 2007) was an award winning Japanese mangaka. He debuted in 1966 in the Garo alternative manga magazine,[1] and in 2006, won the 35th Japanese Cartoonists Association Award Grand prize of 500,000 yen for Red Snow. [2]
He was born in Miyagi Prefecture and died in Ota Ward, Tokyo [3] at the age of 63 of melanoma on December 3, 2007. He is survived by at least one son, Daichi.
