After finishing her schooling in Mumbai, she attended Brooks College in Long Beach, California in 1993 to obtain an Associate of Arts Degree in Interior Design.[1] Upon graduating and completing a three month internship in the U.S., she returned back to India and met formally ex-neighbor Hrithik Roshan. Their friendship soon blossomed into a love relationship, resulting in a registered civil marriage on December 20, 2000 in Bangalore, India. Despite her Muslim and her husband's Hindu religious backgrounds, the couple do not allow their faiths to affect their relationship.
