[edit] the rewritten article

Reads like an essay, which apparently it is, based on [1]. That isn't what works for an encyclopedia. See WP:FIRST--what's need its to write it in a much briefer style, more concise, more informative, less rhetorical. duller, in fact. Look at some other bios here. Include a reference to the DNB entry, because that is what is taken here as proving notability. DGG (talk) 20:33, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I see you've addressed the copyright concerns. :) As DGG notes above, though, the article does need to be revised to keep in the tone of Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:TONE#Tone). What you have is a bit colorful and has some language problematic with regards to our neutral point of view policy and our original research policy. For just a couple of examples, you mention that your subject had "the refined manners of a proper gentleman" and "a distinguished family name". Elsewhere, you refer to somebody's "beautifully written book". Whose judgments are these? It's not the place of Wikipedia editors to make such judgments; though we can certainly cite them if somebody else said so, our job is to provide an overview of other research. As DGG says, it might be helpful for you to look at other articles, like Thomas Rowley (poet), to get an idea how these are usually handled. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:15, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
