If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.
If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alphax τεχ 04:00, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks for your edits to DKR. I have no doubt that your edits are factual, but ideally we try to add references to external sources. Our goal is for everything to be backed up by verifiable reliable sources. Long after you and I are gone from Wikipedia, someone may want to check that the article is correct. The external references help with that and they also guard against human error like typos in dates and the like. Could you please add source info to the article? A how-to on this is found at WP:CITE. I can help you if you have any questions or trouble. Best, Johntex\talk 18:25, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Houmarathonlogo.gif
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Houmarathonlogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Great photo
Hello, thanks for uploading the great photo of Godzillatron and DKR (Image:Godzillatron Closeup.jpg). Do you remember when the photo was taken? The meta-data says it was taken 23 November 2006 but that does not seem right since that was Thanksgiving day and the game was on the 24th. Possibly your camera date setting is a little bit off? I'd like to know which game it was from so I can correctly add that information.
Also, if you have any other photos we'd love to see them!

- Thanks for the quick reply.
- Congratulations on nearing the end of school, I hope your last semester goes realyl well . Is the Silver Spurs Memorial the new facility that includes the museum on Bevo? I'm really looking forward to visiting that. I hope to make it to a few of the games this year and I'll take as many pictures as I can.
- I just added your photo to 2007 Texas Longhorn football team. Even though your photo is from 2006, it is such a great photo and I think it spruces up the article until the 2007 photos start coming in. Johntex\talk 03:02, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hello again - thanks for the message. You have some more great photos there! I will definitely look for places to work them in.
- The statue of Earl should definitely go on his article. There is some chance that an overly-zealous person will claim that a photo of a 3D sculpture cannot be released from copyright because the sculptor still owns the copyright to the statue, so that the photo becomes a derivative work. I don't hold that opinion myself. Hopefully the photo will get to stay.
- I (regrettably) no longer live in Austin, so I don't know how many games I will make. When I do go, I am typically in the north end zone. If you are sitting in the SE corner that gives us both end zones covered!
- One thing I think would be good to snap a picture of is if you get close enough to capture the bluebonnet on the back of the player helmets. They added that this year for Lady Bird and LBJ.
- I am working on incorporating the news stories into 2007 Texas Longhorn football team but I'm a little distracted right now by Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/2005 Texas Longhorn football team and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2005 Texas vs. Texas A&M football game. I also have some non-UT stuff to work on if I ever had time.
- Thanks again for the photos and Hook 'em! Johntex\talk 01:48, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

- Hello, I see you have uploaded some more great photos. I moved your Nebraska panorama over to Commons. Ideally, all free use images should go to Commons so that they are (a) findable and (b) usable on other projects. I have categorized the photo into 2 galleries there:
- I also added it to 2007 Texas Longhorn football team.
- We should also move the photo of Big Bertha and the Nebraska pre-game over to Commons. They are great photos. Thank you for contributing them, and Hook 'em Horns! Johntex\talk 19:14, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
-
- BTW, 2005 Texas Longhorn football team did make Featured Article status. It is the first article on a college football team to do so. Johntex\talk 19:14, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] School seal
Please re-upload the school seal photo to EN. As taking a photo of the seal means the photo is copyrighted to the owner of the seal, it CANNOT be on commons. WhisperToMe (talk) 09:53, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
