A recent edit war over the John Howard article got me thinking...

Although Wikipedia is modelled on an encyclopaedia, its articles should never be 'finished'. For example an article on politician currently in power should be markedly different from the article after they have left office. The currently-in-power article should have lots of detail, a bigger focus on current events, etc. Once they've left office, it should be pruned to the most notable aspects of the pollie's career, etc.
[edit] Consensus is not the same as majority agreement

consensus
- General agreement among the members of a given group or community, each of which exercises some discretion in decision-making and follow-up action.
- Average projected value, as in the finance term consensus forecast.
- A standard of decision-making where agreement is defined as the lack of active opposition to the proposed course of action.
