Surviving (film)

Surviving is a 1985 drama centered around two teenagers Rick (Zach Galligan) and Lonnie (Molly Ringwald) who live in middle class America. Lonnie returns home after recovering from a suicide attempt and develops an intimate relationship with friend Rick, a relationship that is condemned by his family. Attempts to separate them, while unsuccessful, lead to the tragic decision that will ultimately impact on both families. Also stars Paul Sorvino as Lonnie's father, the late River Phoenix as Rick's younger brother, Ellen Burstyn as his mother, and late child star Heather O'Rourke as Sarah, the little sister.
