[edit] Formation
Once Number One Gun disbanded in late 2005, Chris Keene, dissatisfied with what he calls the "wall of sound, constantly overdriven"[1] style, decided to take on a whole new musical genre. He played some songs for Mallory, who liked them and decided to record some demos with Keene; thus forming Surrogate. The demos were then played for Jonathan Dunn, Tooth & Nail artists and repertoire man, who signed them to Tooth & Nail Records in 2007
