Suranga Chandratillake, a British subject of Sri Lankan descent, is the founder and CEO of blinkx.com, an Internet search engine for video and audio content, that allows searching and classification of audio files, video clips and streaming media. In 2003, Suranga, a past student of University of Cambridge and former Autonomy Corporation employee, founded blinkx as a toolbar for web search, specializing in video.
He holds an MA in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, England specializing in distributed processing architectures. Suranga has a varied background in software, spanning eight years and numerous industries including investment banking, enterprise software houses, consultancy and r&d. Prior to founding blinkx, Suranga served as Autonomy Corporation’s US CTO.
