[edit] Reconstructive surgery?

Would this merit a separate category? Tyciol 07:34, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

I would consider using the plastic surgery category.--Steven Fruitsmaak 13:28, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

The plastic surgery category makes more sense. --Siva1979Talk to me 15:49, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Why not to merge Cardio / Vascular / Thoracic surgery categories

Cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery have traditionally been combined into one training program, but are now usually taught as separate specialties. It is more appropriate to retain individual categories for the three streams. There is no reason an operation can not be in both the cardiac and thoracic categories; e.g. heart-lung transplantation belongs in both categories, whereas heart tranplantation and lung transplantation should each be placed in their respective categories. This is my opinion, but I see no good reason to merge any of them. A more appropriate step would be to create a page for cardiovascular surgeon, or cardiothoracic surgeon to discuss the training programs. Dlodge 03:04, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
