[edit] Images

I have sent a request to the WV Supreme Court of Appeals website administrator requesting clarification of these images (as well as others) for use in the public domain and on Wikipedia. Thank you for your patience.--Mphamilton 21:34, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

I have personally removed the two images from this entry due to possible copyright violation. I am awaiting a response from the webmaster for the Supreme Court of Appeals in West Virginia before making any other changes. Thank you for your patience. --Mphamilton 13:33, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
As expected, the images of the Justices and the Courtroom require special copyright permission that I will seek. The image of the Seal, however, is permissible for informational purposes. See below. --Mphamilton 20:45, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
From the Web Coordinator, Angie Smith, for the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia: "As for the seal, you can certainly copy/use the seal in an informational way, you could display and say “this is the seal of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia” but it can’t be used in any official way, on a document or other website etc. that would imply or make it seem like an official document from this court or that a website was associated with the Court in any way."
