Probably a very good reason, but the numbers built in the Variants section don't add up to 83, as stated elsewhere. GrahamBould (talk) 07:42, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

According to Supermarine Aircraft since 1914 production was:

25 Mk Is

39 Mk IIs

8 for Argentina

6 for Turkey

79 production aircraft
