[edit] Merge proposal

This article should be merged into the main Superman article. It covers two distinct topics: the character itself and the supporting cast. The character information also redundant with the main article and the supporting cast information is well covered in others. -- Mookie89 10:12, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Disagree. There isn't the room for such a detailed approach as this article takes at Superman, one of the reasons it was split out per Wikipedia:Summary style. It covers exactly what the title says, Superman, character and cast. As you say, the character, Superman, and the supporting cast. There needs to be one article which overviews the relevance of these character's to each other, and which also further develops the character of Superman, and this can't be achieved in lots of separate articles. Hiding Talk 10:27, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Oppose per Hiding, above. Note that there are several Superman-related articles which are under similar discussion, including: Powers and abilities of Superman, and Clark Kent. - jc37 10:50, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Oppose. Simply doesn't make sense, considering Wikipedia:Article series. Ichormosquito 11:37, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Oppose. Agree with above comments. I think the article could be cleaned up some to reduce redundancies, but I think this article is a useful place to discuss Superman's interactions with his supporting cast. Spiderboy12 16:30, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
  • oppose This is an encompassing and detailed topic, that needs it's own attention. Merging the two would be a disservice to both articles. 66.109.248.114 19:50, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
    • I'll go ahead and remove the merge proposal. Though I continue to feel that 'character' and 'supporting cast' should be the subjects of two separate articles, with character being the one that should have merged. Mookie89 23:45, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Teams SM&BM.jpg

Image:Teams SM&BM.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
