Magic hat Super chair suspension is within the scope of WikiProject Magic, which aims to build a comprehensive and detailed guide to magic on Wikipedia. Tried the trick using a normal chair and board. Doesn't work. If you think about the physics, it makes sense -- the board still has to balance relative to the top of the chair. The "cool physics" part of this trick is that the chair doesn't tip while you do it-- but it seems to require that the board be attached somehow to the chair so that it doesn't slip and fall that way.

Oh, and, of course, the board in the video is only partly taken away. The kid still has to be resting on rails of some kind. Or else she has the most amazing abs ever.
