To-do list for Super Junior:

Here are some tasks you can do:
  • Copyedit: Sections like "controversies" section have too many POV words. Are there more NPOV headings than "cyber attack?"
  • Wikify: Avoid linking the same link more than once. Members' articles are already linked in the infobox and they do not have to be linked five or six times.
  • Verify: Add more sources overall. Especially the "controversies" section.
  • Cleanup: The "lyrics" and "ability" section seem like excessive information and seem to lack notability.
  • Expand: Expand the members' individual pages.
  • NPOV: The "Talent" section sounds like an advertisement starting from the title of the heading itself. Remove any words like "popular" or "famous." See Wikipedia:Words to avoid, Wikipedia:Avoid weasel words and Wikipedia:Avoid peacock terms
  • Other: Han Kyung or Han Geng?
Add title translation for Chinese and Korean sources in English.

[edit] Pictures

Can whoever's doing the pics PLEASE add the promotional photo copyright tag??? Thanks... SKS2K6 22:57, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Oh my god, Tokawaii uploaded the images AGAIN without tags. mirageinred 23:07, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Separate pages for each member?

I just don't like the profile taking up most of the pages; there are 13 members after all. mirageinred 17:54, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

I don't know who'd warrant a separate page, other than Kim Hee Chul (cuz he actually has some acting work under his belt) and a few others.... SKS2K6 06:59, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, I made one for Han Kyung. He's pretty active too. It seems like the profile section is way too big for this article. I'm hoping that the section can be removed eventually. mirageinred 03:17, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Sounds like a good idea...but it'll take a lot of work. Anyone up for working on 12 more? Eek.
The thing is...I'm not sure if that alone meets wikicriteria. Like, if Han Kyung did solo work or something, then yeah, but just appearing on variety shows?.... And some of them are just on Super Junior. Oh, and if you want to make a separate page, you should wikilink the names. :P SKS2K6 07:45, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, he is a public figure. And I'm not sure if I can make 12 more pages either. Maybe just the ones that are particularly active, like HeeChul or something. And by the way, the page for Hankyung is pretty short, and I would definitely appreciate some contributions. mirageinred 17:22, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Okay, after creating page for Hee Chul, I'm not sure if I can make 11 more... Contribution to Hee Chul is always welcome by the way. By the way I removed the profile for members who already have a separate page which kinda changed the layout for this page. mirageinred 19:30, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Any more pages I should create? I must admit, though. I don't know any other members besides Hee Chul and Han Kyung. mirageinred 21:34, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

I would think Ki Bum deserves his own page, too. He's been in a few dramas, just like Si Won and Heechul. East.sea 00:29, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
I dare you to start one. Sorry, but I don't know squat about Ki Bum, but I'll contribute if you make one. mirageinred 01:16, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia

Most of the them are way too unencyclopedic. Deletion? mirageinred 05:36, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

DO IT :D SKS2K6 09:07, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please tag the images

Please read the wikipedia policy before you upload any of the images. If you don't they are going to be deleted. Instead of uploading new pictures in place of their deleted ones, it's going to be MUCH more convenient if you just tag them. mirageinred 13:14, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stop putting fansites onto external links

Unless they're official fanclubs, website, or significant in any way (i.e. lyric translation) they should not be on external links. mirageinred 21:54, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

You can upload fansites if they have extensive info of course, but please don't use forums, sites that require rich media, or inaccesible sites as external links. mirageinred 16:38, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

By the way cyworlds are deleted too. Cyworlds should not be used as links unless mandated by the article itself. mirageinred 14:34, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Are images necessary?

When there's already picture of Super Junior that labels each member, I'm not sure if we really need them. Plus, they don't have tags. They will be deleted eventually. mirageinred 00:53, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Attention

PLEASE do not alter this page unless you understand how Wikipedia works. I'm not saying that I know everything, considering I also just started a few months ago, but for example, birthdays are written as is because they should be wikilinked to the appropriate page. Also, members with solo pages do not have the info written on this page because the solo page has the relevant info. SKS2K6 02:59, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. mirageinred 16:31, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Remove hobbies?

Hobbies sound like trivia in disguise to me.. I also don't get the point of listing blood types... It all sounds like fansite stuff.. mirageinred 15:31, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes. It's pointless. It wouldn't be in an encyclopedia, unless it was noteworthy for being so odd or something. Oh, and I think that since we have the group image, individual images aren't necessary...... (PS Why does this page have so much drama? :P) SKS2K6 07:33, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Blood types I actually understand because Heechul is oftened riducled jokeingly about being AB which is supposed to mean he is odd. (Heechul is more popular for his personality lately then he's talent) That's why I think Blood Type was mentioned. It's much more popular in Asia then English speaking countries that whole "Japanese Theory of Bloodtype personalitys" 72.185.31.157 22:52, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Why are the awards being removed?

Just asking. mirageinred 03:25, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

never mind. I must be going blind. mirageinred 03:59, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding External Links

I'm sorry I have to write again about this, as it has already been discussed, but for these kinds of articles, only official sites and neutral sites should be linked. By neutral, I mean sites that aren't for or against whatever the topic is. For example, on Mariah Carey, many nonofficial websites are linked, but these are sites that give some neutral data/information (her filmography is the subject of one link; the others are mostly biographies). Wikipedia is not the place to hype up your own site, nor is it the place to put links for forums and fansites. Yes, it's true that they don't have to be official, but for example, juniorsource.com is a fan forum and contributes nothing to the article. Sure, you can link to perhaps a forum topic inside juniorsource that has a full biography on these guys, but other than that...it should be avoided. Please fully read Wikipedia's policy on external links (especially "Links normally to be avoided" and "Sites requiring registration") before commenting more on this. Thanks. SKS2K6 05:21, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Citations

I didn't put the notice up there, but all wikipedia articles should have citations. :P But you're right; I don't know how that'll work here.... SKS2K6 19:06, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Did something happen? mirageinred 19:33, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
No...it's just that wikipedia policy dictates that all articles need citations.... SKS2K6 03:53, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] How can we clean up this page?

The cleanup tag has been placed on Super Junior for awhile now. How can we cleanup? The only suggestions I can come up with is to have reliable sources accompany any future edits and remove any unencyclopedic facts from their profiles. Someone brought up that the profiles look stolen, but it hasn't changed much and I don't know how I should change it.. mirageinred 22:03, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Should profile just go away?

Seriously, it just clogs up the page and it's just a series of bullets. Someone already said that it was stolen (see above) before, and I'm beginning to think whether profile should be kept or not. mirageinred 22:53, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

I think it should be done in paragraph form, or list form. Half the information on the profile is trivial (such as weight), and that stuff should be deleted, but I believe that there should be some info on the members, because this group is notable in part for having so many. SKS2K6 00:57, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Just three members to go. mirageinred 23:44, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Done. mirageinred 23:52, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks dude. That's intense. SKS2K6 01:01, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
You're welcome. But some of them are not active as others, so the paragraphs are really short, barely having anything more than their birth name and birth date. mirageinred 01:51, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] fansites are allowed now.

I read the new External links policy, and fansites, if they're well-made and full of information, are good to go. SKS2K6 01:08, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

I thought fansites were always allowed if they had useful information? But still, we should have as few external links as possible according to the policy. mirageinred 02:04, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
They were, but were discouraged. Now, they're semi-encouraged. SKS2K6 02:58, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] constantly removing criticism..

I want to know the reason for this. Their singing ability or lack thereof received enough publicity to be mentioned in the article. mirageinred 00:31, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thai?

Why is there a string of Thai at the top of this talk page? Ytlow 10:11, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Good question. I can't read what it says so I wasn't sure whether I should have removed it or not. mirageinred 20:23, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sub group

Super Junior has Super Junior K.R.Y. so shouldn't the SuJu page mention Super Junior T. T? Because Super Junior T. T is of 6 members of Suju

I'm thinking this section really needs a clean-up soon. Maybe a section for only sub-groups (and NO, DRYS2K is not an official sub-group, it's just a song they did for the H.I.T. OST) with Super Junior KRY and Super Junior T as sub headings. And all other post-debut, ie, car accident and just a line mentioning the date of creation of sub-groups. The details of the sub-groups should be noted in their sub-units? Htruc 00:02, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
If Super Junior T becomes successful, then we could create a page dedicated to the sub-group. mirageinred 01:34, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Super Junior New Project

Recently They had Build New Project Of Super Junior

New Project Name "Super Junior Drys2K"

Super Junior Drys2K Sung Soundtrack Of H.I.T Drama opening name "Success" and ending Name "H.I.T"

H.I.T Drama is a Series Of SBS Genre Searching Of Secret Muder...(I'm can't use enlish well enought)

Member Of Super Junior Drys2K is Donghea, reewook, yesung, kangin, kyuhyun and Sungmin —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.113.51.7 (talk) 11:24, 3 April 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Car accident

I know basically almost every Super Junior fan knows about the car accident. But don't you think everything should be cited. For example, Lee Teuk's also might need to be referenced, like how many stitches he got (100 stitches), but references are going to be needed. EunHyuk and ShinDong released out of hospital should also be sighted. There's a lot more too. But almost all the reliable articles are Korean, and I'm not. So I don't know where the information comes from exactly. Thanks! Htruc 23:09, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Billy Jean, Look At Me OST.jpg

Image:Billy Jean, Look At Me OST.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:09, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sources and page bloating

I can see how sections like the car accident relate to the group, and I can see how if there's been a lot of controversy, yes, there should be a section about it, but a majority of the article reads like a newspaper, as opposed to an encyclopedia. Can we tighten it up and get some more sources for most of the information? Also, the Notes should become reference-tagged or in-line text, not a weird, untemplated section on its own. Nique talk 04:13, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Endorsement Products

Do we honestly need a list of endorsement products? It all seem like someone's just putting it there to say that Suju is popular. It's the same with TVXQ as well. If no one objects to it, I'm going to delete the endorsement products on both the pages soon. 206.40.103.158 16:19, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Good point. It's may be excessive information by this point. mirageinred 21:08, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Make page for Don't Don single

please make a page for the Don't Don single as soon as it comes out please, i won't be able to find any reliable sources as i cant read Korean which means i won't be able to translate the articles which wikipedia takes for granted Blkeddie! 03:28, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Suicide info not helpful to article

The blurb on the suicide of the young girl is not relevent to the article on the band. It may belong in a page about the fan club. There is no interaction between the band and girl leading to her suicide except for a photo mentioned. I'm deleting the section as gratuitous- if someone wants to move it to a fan club article, feel free. Epthorn 06:54, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Another Lip-Sync Problem

I rewatched the episode of Popular Song (Inki gayo) on SBS when Super Junior made their Come Back with Don't Don on Sept. 30th, 2007... maybe it's me, but either Super Junior can AMAZINGLY imitate the album version in person, or they lip-synced that performance as well. 2 weeks later on KBS2's Music Bank K-Chart, they performed Don't Don again but this time they had visible microphones and you can hear them singing and it sounded WAY different than when they first performed on Inki gayo.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdcxVNGsgms (Inki gayo performance in question) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0uHaLiJyf0 (Music Bank performance non-lip-synced)Xatticus —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.123.251.204 (talk) 23:33, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Please tell me how that at all contributes to the article, also please get the right comeback performance, their first performance of Don't Don was on the 21st, not the 30th, which was performed live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydowUZoDj5E (21st perf.) The performance on the 30th was lipsynced but every act does it every now and then. Even DBSK so it's not a huge deal. So really what does your comment have to do with the article? Ourdestiny 19:24, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't think the lipsynching is notable enough, as other groups do it. When they first debuted, it was a problem, and it's noted as such. But now, they've shown that they can sing (well enough), and there have been no real problems with it, so I don't think it should be put in the article. SKS2K6 (talk) 19:38, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

The reason why their lipsynching problem was mentioned in their article was because they lipsynched while performing on a music program that guarantees ALL LIVE peformances (For example, KBS Music Bank and MBC Music Core are programs where you are required to give live performances) and this piece of information made it to the news. Popular Songs is not a guaranteed live music program, so they can lipsynch in Popular Songs without getting criticized. Most singers that perform with heavy choreography lipsynch on Popular Songs anyways (including the "talents" BoA, TVXQ, etc...) and not just Super Junior. Their lipsynching is obviously not a problem anymore. ZRM (talk) 21:00, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
