Supriya Devi

Supriya Devi (Bengali: সুপ্রিয়া দেবী), also known as Supriya Choudhury (Bengali: সুপ্রিয়া চৌধুরী) (born 1933) is an Indian Bengali female actor, acting in Bengali cinemas for more than 50 years.[1]

Supriya Devi was born in Michkina, Myanmar (then Burma). Her father was noted lawyer Gopal Chandra Banerjee. During World War II, a great number of Indians returned to India after settling in Burma. Supriya's family ended up settling in the southern part of Calcutta.[2] Her debut in acting happened when, as a seven-year-old, her father made her step in to play two roles in two plays directed by him.[1]
