Superwoman is the third album and second studio album by Australian singer Paulini released in Australia on August 5, 2006 (see 2006 in music) by Columbia Records. It is a collection of international, original, R&B, pop-soul songs — written by a range of writers including Paulini herself since she feels she had more control over this album. Superwoman debuted outside the top fifty on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, and sales fell considerably short of those of Paulini's debut album, One Determined Heart (2004). The singles released from the album were not major hits, "Rough Day" peaking in the top thirty in Australia and "So Over You" just peaking in the top fifty.
Paulini states "I wanted to make a record that showed different sides of me. A lot of people have this image of me as very... kind of simple, I guess... a girl next door. But this album is not about a girl. It's about a woman who's just trying to do the best she can"[1]. She also states "I absolutely treasure this album. I've had more control, some of my own songs are on it, and I've sung it exactly the way I wanted to sing it. I hope that people will be happy with it. I've tried my best. But for me, the most important thing is that people know that I can sing and I'm not faking everything. It's real and it's genuine"[1].
The album debuted on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart on August 14, 2006 at number seventy-two with 676 copies copies sold[2][3]. However the album was more successful on the Australian Urban Charts where it peaked and debuted at number nine[2]. The next weeks it dropped down the Urban Charts only spening six weeks in it.
