Supa Dave West is an American musician, vocalist, songwriter and record producer.
The beginning of his musical career started in church playing drums for various groups and choirs.
He started professionnaly by doing several gigs around Europe, then came back to the USA playing for Joe and for Faith Evans.
Getting tired of the road, he decided to begin producing. While he was still doing gigs, he started working with Dinky Bingham, his mentor.
In 1991, his group Hotsauce got a record deal from Elektra Records. Unfortunately, the group disbanded the following year. At this point, West focused on producing for other artists.

His first track sold was "Copa Cabanga" by De La Soul. Since, then Dave West has worked with the likes of Phife Dawg, De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Meshell Ndegeocello, E-40, Spooks, Planet Asia, Yummy Bingham, Masta Killa, Pharaohe Monch and Raekwon's Ice Water Inc.
