Suomen Sisu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Suomen Sisu is a Finnish nationalistic organization that stands against unlimited immigration and seeks to promote patriotism and nationalism in Finland and abroad. Suomen Sisu's nationalism is based on the idea that every nation and culture has a right to exist and to govern themselves.

The organization gained publicity in the spring 2006 when it published the infamous Muhammad-cartoons on its web site. Parliament member Jari Vilén initiated criminal investigation but it did not lead to prosecution. Finnish PM Matti Vanhanen apologised the deed in public, which was interpreted in the nationalistic part of the Finnophone blogosphere as "flattering the islamists".
