[edit] New Hope-Lambertville Bridge
You have a discussion of the change in costs from 1814 to 1904, but the amounts listed are the same. Alansohn 18:31, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- Now the amounts are different: The cost of the 1904 bridge was $63,818.81, several million less than the $67,936.37 needed to build the 1814 structure. But if my math is correct, the change from 1814 to 1904 was a few thousand dollars, not several million. Please also be reminded that, per the manual of style, there is no need to link to year-only dates, unless there is a strong reason to believe that readers will want to link to the year. So it might make sense to link to the date in a sentence reading "The year of the first manned moon landing, 1969, was a pivotal year in American history", but not in "The bridge underwent major renovations in 1969". [edit] Geo Coordinates
I was recently rather surprised to find the wikipedia icon for the Washington Crossing Bridge over near Emmaus, Pennsylvania in Google Earth. I ended up correcting the coordinates that you added to a bunch of articles on Delaware River bridges near Trenton (e.g. this edit). It seems like you took a DD.DDDDD formatted lat and long and tried to break it into a DMS format without converting from base 10 to base 60. For example, if you had 40.999°, you would put 40°99'97", when it should be 40°59'59".
Also, check out {{Coord}} which lets you enter the coordinates once and get them in the infobox and title (see my edit of the Washington Crossing Bridge for an example). You can use {{Coord}} to input in either format, but go the extra mile and use DMS as it's easier to read (IMHO). One way to convert is to first input it in DD.DDDD, preview, then follow the link to Google Maps which will display both. You could also follow the link to Topozone and change coordinate styles there.
If you edited any more coordinates that way, other than those bridges near Trenton, please fix them. --J Clear (talk) 01:15, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
I apologize for that, but thanks for letting me know. I only added coordinates to a few articles, all of which you fixed. In the future, I'll follow the format you outlined. Sunweb52 (talk) 19:04, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
