{{helpme}} Archive Boxes

{{helpme}} Can someone tell me whats wrong with my archive box on this page? I've been trying to fix it, but something seems to be wrong.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions) 00:22, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

You have "User:Sunny910910/Archive 1" as the page name. But it must begin with "User talk:", not with just "User:". I fixed the one for Archive 1. --Coppertwig (talk) 02:45, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for signing my autograph book!! Do you one I could sign? Cheers!! Ninetywazup? ( r t ) sign here! 19:19, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Boleslaw Kon

The notability of this person as a prizewinner in the second International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition (in the article on which he was already redlinked before I considered producing an article on him) and as First prizewinner in the International Music Competition of 1936 at Vienna (both of which facts are explicitly stated in the article as I have given it) make his notability beyond doubt. You may detect the same from reading the weblink I introduced. I will add this paragraph to the article discussion page forthwith. Eebahgum (talk) 03:02, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, but...

I'm trying to use this template here. I'm just trying to match the style of my page. However, i'll do some digging into the template you suggested and see if i can't find a solution in there. Thanks! --omtay38 03:51, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

No problem! I just sorry that I couldn't help.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions) 03:57, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Our Co-Nominee

BTW Sunny, I don't know you that well, but just a piece of advice on Seresin's RfA... don't get caught up in defending him if he gets any opposes. It is my opinion that nominators often do more harm to nominees by getting too involved in their defense. As the nominator, our opinions are viewed as biased. If you feel compelled to get involved, keep it short, polite, and don't get into extended debates.Balloonman (talk) 08:45, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Re your comment on an RfA

At this RfA in your co-nom statement, you mention CSD A1 and talk about it as if it's the "nonsense" criterion. However, the "nonsense" criterion is G1, not A1. You might want to recheck your facts or edit your statement. --Coppertwig (talk) 21:53, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

I appreciate your fixing that, since my vote is based partly on what you said (although there's plenty of reason to support even without that). --Coppertwig (talk) 23:57, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

WP:AIV report

Hello there! Just wanted to say, great job on the encyclopedia, and good job reporting to AIV! Just wanted to drop you a note. Most of the time, IP addresses are dynamic, and may switch physical connections from time to time, sometimes even as often as every time a certain router reconnects. Static addresses may also change hands frequently; for example, a library's IP address is likely to be used by hundreds of people daily. This is why you should run through the full range of warnings with an IP if it has had a gap in vandalism; most of the time, just the user of the IP is the vandal. I wanted to clear this up for future reference. Hope it helps! Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 23:49, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

The Novels WikiProject Newsletter
Issue XXI - February 2008
Project news
  • We have had a solid month with an increase of project tagging work. We now have a bit of a backlog of assessments needed.
Member news
  • The project has currently 305 members, 6 joined & 0 leavers since the start of January 2008.
  • The member page has been reorganized with it being noted that many member are largely inactive. However this is not unusual for WikiProjects and we have a very loyal core of editors who work diligently away often without recognition.
Other news
  • Many book cover images were tagged for deletion because of missing or incorrect fair use rationales in January. Several notes on this subject were placed on the General Forum.
Task force news
Novel related news
Current debates
  • The short story taskforce talk page has a discussion relating to the (non)inclusion of articles on stories by well known authors. Find the debate here.

Help?

Anyone. I'm talking about any person on Wikipedia! Thank you, Sunny910910!Kitty53 (talk) 00:24, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Almost forgot

Do some Wikiusers have counterparts? I remember bumping into a userpage with one.Kitty53 (talk) 00:55, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

What's that?Kitty53 (talk) 01:01, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. By the way, you had typed in "it's and account," and I think you meant to type in "It's an account," so I fixed the typo.Kitty53 (talk) 01:20, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you so much!

Thank you for the message! I'm new and I'm a little shy, and sort of afraid of editing something in case I mess up! You have given me scome courage, actually! Write back so I can have a sort of first friend! Lurai (talk) 21:40, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: (User talk:ais523) User:Ais523/watchlistnotifier.js

No, I don't think there is an easy way; the API query that the script uses to request the watchlist information doesn't have an option to hide your own edits, so it couldn't be done efficiently. --ais523 13:19, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: User talk:Ampersand17

Hey, Sunny. Just to let you know, a "soft block" is a block on an IP address that allows registered users to log in and edit (the "anon. only" option is set to "true"). Other types of blocks deny that ability, such as those used on open proxies. A "hard" or "auto block," for example, is applied to registered users and automatically blocks any IP address that account attempts to use. Wikipedia:Blocking policy#Setting block options has more information about that. Happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:27, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
