Jason Roberts (February 9th 1974) born in Omaru New Zealand is a well known Australian chef, Author, Executive Producer and Philanthropist having moved to Australia as a small child.
Finding inspiration in his Nanna’s kitchen as a child, “Jas” bodly declared to his Nanna he wanted to be a cook. Role models were not in short supply either, with his Nanna and grandfather making their living as caterers and his Nanna Goodman running a restaurant.
Jason graduated from Australia’s East Sydney Technical College in 1993 having been the only student to achieve a perfect “100%” score in final exams.
Apprenticeships at top Sydney restaurants won Jas the title of Apprentice of the Year in 1993 from East Sydney Technical Institute. Gaining the position of Head Chef at the renowned Sydney 2 hat restaurant and eatery Bistro Moncur (where Jason stayed for 7 years), Jason was featured in an Australian national article of Sydney’s “New Breed of Chefs”. This article caught the attention of Australia’s Channel Nine Network (formally owned by media magnate Kerry Packer) where Jason became the host of their new daily cooking program Fresh. Airing 5 days a week in Australia and twice daily in New Zealand, Jason hosted Fresh for 4 years and a staggering 860 episodes.
In January 2003 Jason was introduced to 16 million Americans on the ABC Studios TV program Good Morning America where he became an instant hit. His appearance created such a desire for his recipes on the ABC website that he rocketed from number 25 to number 4 in the Day’s stories.
In addition to many Australian tv shows, Jason has appeared on The Wayne Brady Show, The Sharon Osbourne Show, E! You’re Invited and the Style Network’s You’re Invited. Jason also appeared on New York’s top raiting morning Show Living It Up! With Ali & Jack and Soap Talk with Lisa Rinna.
2003 saw the release of Jason’s first book “Graze – lots of little meals fast” which tapped into the growing trend towards eating smaller more frequent meals by offering small-portion recipes.
2004 saw Jason join forces with world-renowned US production company Mandalay Entertainment where he shot a 3-part lifestyle special entitled “Jason Roberts Taste”. From this series Jason earned a 2005 Accolade Award Honorable mentions for Best Host/Presenter and Best Food/Lifestyle Show.
2006 saw the release of Jason’s 2nd book “Elements”, the first title of Roberts’ book publishing company Manic J Productions, owned with fellow Australian Maree Gadd. Elements sat at #1 for 75 days on Barnes and Noble.com in the international cuisine section and has achieved continued success in the United States and Canada.
2007 saw Roberts and his business partner move the company’s operations to Los Angeles, USA where he now sits at CEO of Love Me Tender LLC, a company he owned in partnership with Maree Gadd that focuses on television writing and production, along with it’s now successful publishing division for all of Roberts’ work.

Since 2004 Jason has been the Global Ambassador and face for iCook Cookware, a product owned and designed by Alticor Inc. This position has seen Jason travel to New Zealand, Canada, The Bahamas, China, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Fresh: (2001 to 2004) was Roberts’ first television series. The show was aired 5 days a week in Australia and twice daily in New Zealand on Australia’s #1 rating 9 Network, formally owned by Kerry Packer. The show was produced in conjunction with leading magazine The Australian Women's Weekly.
Jason Roberts’ Taste was a 3-episode 2004 show special showcasing the “Aussie Chef” moving to America and highlight quick, fresh meals for people on the go.
Ready Steady Cook, based on the English format of the same name was a timed cooking competition to highlight to viewers their ability, once teamed with their celebrity chef, to cook a minimum of 3 meals in 15 minutes.

Having started his live shows in 2001 as “on location” shoots for Fresh, Roberts believed live touring was a phenomenon yet to be tapped. Throughout the following years the live shows grew with animation, music, effects and Jason’s love to have others up on stage with him.
2006 saw the launch of Roberts’ new live format show “Jason Roberts-LIVE ! A feast for the eyes and the soul, a live experience sees Jason cooking on stage with lots of special effects, great music, live theatrics and Jason’s love of dancing……..the launch tour saw Jason tap dancing a-la-tap dogs in his Blundstone boots and wowing audiences around the country with his abilities.

Roberts and his business partner are avid advocates of philanthropic endeavors. Currently planning is underway for the Jason Roberts Foundation in the United States to undertake a grant system for specific causes.

In January 2007 Roberts was made aware of a fiction book published with the main character being Celebrity Chef Jason Roberts. Through lawyers it was confirmed that the book had no relation, in any way, to Australian Celebrity Chef Jason Roberts.
