Talk:Sunstone Circuits

[edit] Reason for creating page

It came to my attention that Sun Microsystems tried to sue a company for their name, which also contained "sun." That company turned out to be Sunstone Circuits. The lawsuit was dropped when Sun Microsystems learned that it was ten years behind in holding the rights to the name (rather embarrasing that such a detail could slip by the giant). I am in no way connected to either companies. I agree that the page needs work, but it is hardly intended as an advertisement, nor is any of the data listed a "silliness." I modeled the page after the same sorts of information available under the Sun Microsystems article (name, place of business, foundation date, CEO, etc), however the data is bareboned. I understand that it may have been premature to include information about Sun Microsystems before citing the incident (I failed to find an online source so I might have to dig up the printed information, if I can find it), but I am going to relist the link to the disambiguation of "sun."

Any help finding the citation needed for the lawsuit between Sun Microsystems and Sunstone Circuits would be appreciated. --Trakon 23:54, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Actually, I'll hold off with the disambiguation. Also, I cleaned up the page, it's basically a stub now. All I can find online or in records involves the ROHS, so I might add something about that in the mean time until I can find more on the lawsuit. --Trakon 00:09, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Keep it or lose it?

I forgot I made this page. I thought I would preempt a potential prod for deletion by saying that I am not attached to this page. I remember when I originally heard about the story between Sunstone and Sun (it fascinated me), but I have lost interest in it and am not in the mood to actively dig up anything further. --Trakon 10:26, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
