I've made a start on building up this stub, drawing mainly from some Sydney Morning Herald articles to which I have access but which aren't easily available without a subscription.

There is a lot more to the Bailey manhunt, conviction and execution, which was quite controversial at the time and isn't discussed here. Will try to come back to it later.

I'd footnote my sources if I could, but doing so is a labour-intensive nightmare that I've never mastered.
