Talk:Suncheon, Jeonnam
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"It is a popular city in South Korea for education, transportation, and its beautiful people and nature. Located in the province of Jeollanam-do, Suncheon is the 2nd least noisy city in South Korea as well as an excellent place to live . . . "
????
Beautiful people? Popular city in South Korea? Excellent place to live? The language needs to be changed in many places. --MerkurIX(이야기하세요!)(투고) 07:15, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

- There is a lot of bias in the article. I like Suncheon as much as the next guy---I live there---but to use words like beautiful, popular, transportation hub, etc., is a bit much. Suncheon is perhaps well-known in Jeollanam-do as these things, but no evidence exists to suggest that the rest of Korea gives a damn. I did hear that Suncheon was voted "Most Livable City" something like 4 years ago, but unless somebody can produce a link, we ought not to go on hearsay. Also, some of the information here, besides being speculative, is factually wrong. I suggest you get rid of the garbage in the introduction, or else I will. [edit] I didn't mean that the rest of korea gives a damn.
It's just because, beautiful people as the proverb says 'Don't boast of your face in suncheon (Because historically, Japanese plndered good people and valuable stuffs throughout Korea and stored them in their castle in Suncheon, but they all remainded here when Yi-sunshin defeated them) , don't boast of your money in Yeosu, don't boast of your power in Beolkyo', and suncheon is popular for many things such as sweet persimmons, beautiful people, convenient transportation, education, etc. and, It is an evidence that Suncheon is the quietest city in Korea on this article [1] according to the reserach done by the Ministry of Environment. and, It shows that Suncheon is the 2nd livable city in Korea [2] for the research done by 'country&city project institute, CCEJ, and Jungang newspaper company supported by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation.
P.S. Well, I think it's hard to afford proofs for everything. But I tried my best to do it. and I think it's ok to say like this for being positive is better than being pessimistic. cause, I'm not doing this for my own benefit but only for introducing my city as nice as possible.
- Fair enough. I thank you for writing on this discussion page and for showing a couple of articles. You obviously care about doing your city proud. I'm also interested in collecting information on Suncheon, especially since I now live there, and there really isn't much quality information in English on the area. I think there might be a better way, a more encyclopedic way, to write the introductory paragraph, but I'm a little too busy tonight to do it. I'll take another look tomorrow, type up a sample on this page, and see what you (all) think.
- p.s. I normally do my wriiting on the Galbijim Wiki, a wiki entirely about living and working in Korea. Have a look around some time if you're bored . . . I've tried my best to build up the Jeollanam-do stuff as much as possible . . . as you know there's almost no English information about it. http://wiki.galbijim.com/Portal:Jeollanam-do SolitaryThrush 11:39, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sorry, late reply
Wow. I didn't know that Galbijim site was for those people living in Korea. I just thought It would be something like commercial stuff. anyway, I am happy you got what I have intended. Do you wanna talk to me on MSN ? byeonggwan@hotmail.com because, I don't really get what more encyclopedic way would be like and how to write the introductory paragraph. So, I just think it'd be better to talk on msn freely before doing this and I can help you whatever you want if I can as well. I will wait for your add. -byeonggwan- —Preceding unsigned comment added by Byeonggwan (talk • contribs) 19:07, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Suncheon logo.gif
Image:Suncheon logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
