Suntree, Florida

Suntree is a planned community in Brevard County, Florida, United States. It is unincorporated.[1] It is located near the center of the county, off I-95 near Viera between Interstate 95 and the Florida East Coast Railroad. It lies approximately halfway between Rockledge and Melbourne. The population was 20,194 at the 2000 census.

Suntree is located at 28°13′46″N, 80°54′05″ While it is located north of Melbourne, it uses a Melbourne, Florida postal address.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 20,194 people. The racial makeup was 93.2% White, 3.1% African American, 2.8% Asian, and 1.0% from two or more races.

The gender split was almost even, with 49% being male, and 51% female.

The median income for a household was $61,601.

  • The Sun also a bi-weekly newspaper, serves Suntree and the surrounding areas, including Palm Shores.
  • Hometown News is the bi-weekly local newspaper that serves Suntree/Viera.
  • WFHA-LP is a low-powered radio station serving the community, with transmitter/studio facilities in Windover Farms of Melbourne.

  • Cecil Fielder 1998-2000. Professional baseball player. He lived in a mansion on Jordan Blass Drive. The mansion is still for sale.
