[edit] The Beginning
Sunshyne are a four piece English female R&B group formed in 2007. The band formed after former girl group, The 411 split up. This band took its name after the Mary J. Blige album "What's The 411?".
The 411's first single On My Knees featured Ghostface Killah of the Wu-Tang Clan and was a hit in the UK (reaching top 5) and Australia (reaching top 30). A second single, "Dumb", reached top 3 in the UK and also reached the top 30 in Australia. These singles appeared on their album, Between The Sheets, featuring songs written by Diane Warren and Dion of Big Brovaz, Redeye and the 411 themselves. A third single was also released, preceding the album by one week, called "Teardrops", but only made #23 in the UK. They also recorded a cover version os SWV's big hit "Weak". (It can be seen on youtube). Following the merger of Sony Music with BMG the group were dropped by Sony Music, and went their separate ways after unsuccessfully seeking a new record deal.
Between The Sheets was also released in France and Japan. The French edition featured 2 new versions of album tracks, recorded specifically for the French market - "Face À Toi Baby" featuring Mag (featuring the verses from "Dumb" with a special French chorus) and "Chance" featuring K'Maro (a new mix of "Chance" featuring a French language rap). The Japanese edition of the album featured the standard 12 tracks from the UK version, alongside two bonus tracks - "Drop Top Jeans" (which appeared as B-side to "Teardrops" in the UK), and "Soaking Wet," alongside an enhanced section featuring the videos to "On My Knees" and "Dumb."
[edit] Sunshyne
In September 2007, members Tanya Boniface and Tisha Martin announced that they were to form a new group called Sunshyne and Nuala Farrelly and Daizy Agnew soon joined to make up the four piece. Daizy soon left and was replaced by Stephanie Barnes.
Sunshyne have now split up and Tanya and Tisha have decided to reform The 411, with the new line up also including Nuala Farrelly and also Carolyn Owlett, who was originally omitted during the last reformation of the group in 2007. Suzie Furlonger is no longer involved, having decided to pursue other avenues.
