Sunset Rubdown is an indie rock band from Montreal, Canada. The band began as a solo project for Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade, who released his debut, Snake's Got a Leg, in July 2005. Eventually the group expanded to include Camilla Wynn Ingr (Pony Up!), Jordan Robson-Cramer (XY Lover, Miracle Fortress and Magic Weapon), and Michael Doerksen (Deep Sleepover). The new lineup released the Sunset Rubdown EP in January 2006, and the album Shut Up I Am Dreaming followed in May to wide-spread critical acclaim. Their album Random Spirit Lover was released on October 9, 2007 on the band's new label, Jagjaguwar, and was heralded as one of 2007's best albums by critics and music publications [1] , making numerous top-10 albums of the year lists. The band was also nominated for the U.S. Indie Music industry's Plug Award in the Band of the Year category.

In 2007, Mark "the Nuc" Nicol joined the band.
