Sunset High School is a suburban high school in Beaverton, Oregon, USA. It is one of 9 high schools in the Beaverton School District. The school currently offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The class of 2006 includes 27 International Baccalaureate Diploma students, and over half of Sunset's seniors (class of 2006) are enrolled in at least one IB class. Sunset belongs to the Metro League for interscholastic athletics and activities. Sunset High School was the location of one of the last speeches given by Senator Robert Kennedy before his assassination in 1968.

9% of all students are in ESL programs and 30% are minority. On the SAT, students received an average of 558 on the verbal portion and 563 on the math, and have the highest average scores in the Beaverton area. Sunset students had a 3.4% drop out rate. (Unless otherwise stated, statistics are as of the 2002-2003 school year.) [1]

The Sunset Rocketry Club is a student-initiated model rocketry club at the school. The club attended the 2003 Team America Rocketry Challenge finals in Manassas, Virginia. Sunset High School also hosted the 2004 State Thespian conference. Former members of the nationally-competitive chess club at Cedar Park Middle School earned top honors for Sunset in the state-wide Chess for Success tournament at the Oregon Convention Center in March, 2006, placing first and second, respectively.

The Sunset Apollo Marching Band and Auxiliary were named AA Champions of the Northwest Marching Band Circuit, in 2006, and again in 2007, making Sunset one of the top marching programs in the entire northwestern United States, and the best band with under 100 members in the region. The Sunset Apollo Marching Band and Auxiliary, abbreviated SAMBA, performs annually at the University of Oregon Festival of Bands. SAMBA is a nationally recognized group, known for its legacy of excellence. It performs at home football teams and at weekend competitions throughout the Northwest. There are woodwinds, brass, drum-line, pit, and auxiliary sections of the band.
